Profiles - Userbar Menu
What is it?
The Profile screen is the central area for all your community profile functionality. It contains your basic profile information and activity list, as well as links to other profile functionality. Other people in the community will see a version of this page when they visit your profile.
Create clear communication channels
For many organizations, the Profile section is a place where people can connect with their peers both inside and outside of the Igloo community. If your organization makes extensive use of other social media platforms, you can encourage the members of your community to have those fields completed and this area can become a hub for that contact information. If your organization is focused on a more internal communication framework, telephone numbers, addresses, and reporting information can all be found here.
Put a face to a name
The Profile area of your Igloo community can also be a place where members can express themselves. People can list their interests and hobbies and link to outside achievements. It can also be a place where community members learn about each other and begin forming collaborative relationships. In a time where it is not uncommon to have team members and colleagues you have never met face-to-face, the Profile page can provide a level of familiarity and put a face to a name.
Features and functionality
The Profile area acts as hub for all your community profile functionality. Look below for a list of the additional features found within the Profile area.
For the sake of simplicity, a sub navigation of all the menu items listed in your userbar is provided. This makes it easier for you to navigate from one area to another.
If you need to add or change the information in your profile, you can do so by selecting Edit Profile. To edit the information under Personal, Work, Photo, Privacy, and Email Settings select the corresponding tab. Read the Edit Profile article more information on this feature.
Have you ever needed to meet with someone for the first time and you don’t know what they look like? Adding a profile picture can help people put a face to your name.
To add a profile picture, select Edit Profile, and then select the Photo tab. This will bring up a page that will permit you to drag in a new image file or select an image from your computer.
