What is it?
There are several ways you can receive emails from Igloo. The three most common are, Broadcasts and Subscriptions which inform you of new content and important changes in your community.
Other actions that can generate an email are Invitations, Read Tracking reminders, join requests for spaces and public communities, and draft and moderation updates like approvals, assignments and notes.
Features and functionality
The following are features in communities that can generate email notifications:
Subscriptions - Subscriptions are controlled by individual members and create email notifications automatically when new content is created, commented on, or modified. See the article on Subscriptions for more detail.
Broadcasts - Broadcasts are emails that you can create and send out to entire groups in your community announcing new content, or drawing attention to existing information. See the article on Broadcasts for more detail.
Direct Messages - Messages can be sent directly between people in your community. They arrive as emails and in in your personal Messages area. See Messages for more detail.
Invitations - Invitations can be sent by administrators to invite people to become members of your community. See Invitations for more information.
Join Requests - Join Requests are sent to administrators on sites where Public Registration is enabled
Space Join Requests - Spaces with Join Requests enabled in their Manage Members area will send requests via email to the Space Administrators
Read Tracking reminders - On content with Read Tracking enabled, it is possible to send reminders to people to visit the content and acknowledge they have read it. See Read Tracking for more detail.
Moderation - Moderated articles and channels can send email notifications to moderators. See Moderation for more information.
Drafts - If multiple authors are working on a draft article, other authors will be notified via email if the work is assigned, published, edited, deleted, or if a note is added. You will also be notified if someone adds you as an author to a draft.

What address do emails come from?
Different notifications can come from different addresses. See the articles related to each type of message for specific details. However, all come from the same domain which can be customized. The default email domain is the same as your community domain.
