What is it?
Pinning content on a Blog or Forum channel keeps important information at the top of that channel. Content can be pinned until a selected date, or indefinitely. This is a great way to keep guidelines at the top of a Forum, or to highlight specific Blog articles such as a CEO’s update.
Pinning content can be useful in the following circumstances:
- Display important organizational updates, such as news from the CEO, at the top of other content in a widget.
- Help users find forum guidelines by pinning them at the top of your forum boards.
- Keep frequently asked questions pinned to prevent repeat questions. Tip: If your FAQ pins become too lengthy, consider moving your FAQ into a Wiki channel.
- Feature articles through pinning to increase viewership and engagement on articles and posted topics.
Features and functionality

Best practices / Tips and tricks
Keep pinned content relevant
Review pinned content often to ensure it remains relevant to members. If it is no longer relevant, remove the pin to allow members to see fresh content first. If content is going to be relevant for an extended amount of time such as a few months, consider using a Call to Action in an HTML widget or a Links widget to direct members to the piece of content or information.
Do not let pinned content obstruct new content
When pinning Blog articles, ensure people can still see new content underneath the pinned article.
