What is it?
The Navigation widget provides a way to display a layer of your community’s architecture for ease of navigation. In the widget, you can select any page or space in your community and it will display the pages, spaces, and channels that are located there.
Selecting any of the links in the Navigation widget will bring you to that location in your community.
Features and functionality
The Navigation widget works the same way as the Site Map widget, except that you are unable to access subpages, if they exist.
- Title - This name is displayed above the content of the widget. It can be left blank or contain up to 140 characters.
- Hyperlink title to source - This option allows the title of the Navigation widget to link to another location.
- Description - This text is displayed below the title and above the navigation links.
- Source - You can select the source for your Navigation widget, which determines the content to be displayed. Choose from a Page, Space, or your entire community.
There are currently no layout options for the Navigation widget.
The Appearance tab options have their own dedicated support document. For more information, see the Widgets article.
At the bottom of the Navigation widget edit tool, you will find options to Update and Cancel. Update will save and apply all changes that you have made (whether they have been made in the Options, Layout and/or Appearance tab), and then close the edit tool. Cancel will close the edit tool without saving or applying any changes that were made.
To refresh the contents of the Navigation widget select the curved arrow found on its title bar while in Page Edit mode.
To remove a Navigation widget from a Page, select the “x” on the far right side of its title bar while in Page Edit mode. The Navigation widget will be removed from the Page and all settings that were associated with it will be lost.
