Pinning and unpinning content
Pinning and unpinning content
Pinning can only be done on Blog and Forum Channels. Pinned content is placed at the top of a Blog or Forum channels feed, and if enabled, at the top of feeds displayed in the Blog Articles widget and Forum Topics widget.
Pinning must be enabled on a Blog or Forum channel before content can be pinned. When pinning is enabled on a channel, users who are creating content or have at least Edit level access to content will be able to pin that content.
How to pin and unpin content during the creation or editing of it
- Scroll down to the Publish Settings section of the content.
- Select the checkbox next to "Pin this content". A check in this box indicates that it will be pinned, while no check indicates that the content will not be pinned.
- Set the expiry date for the pin. The pins expiry date will default to the channel setting or a previously set date. Click the X button next to this date if you would like to set a different date. If there is no existing expiry date, you can click the "Select an expiration date" link to open a date picker and set a different expiration date than the channel default.
- Click Save as Draft or Publish to apply this change to the content.
How to pin and unpin content using the actions menu
- While viewing the content that you would like to pin, click its actions button located on the menu bar above the content. If viewing the content from a channel, the actions button will be a button (
) next to the content's title.
- Select Pin from the actions menu to open a window where pinning can be configured.
- If the content is already pinned, the Remove Pin option will be displayed instead. Selecting this option will unpin the content. While this change will take effect immediately, you will need to refresh the page to see it.
