Email Notifications
My team is currently working on a digital workplace cleanup in order to determine which pages need to be deleted, reformatted, or reorganized. This includes making updates to blog channels and where they are located. Unfortunately, we have found that our backend changes are causing email notifications to users that are subscribed to these channels.
We don’t necessarily want our users’ inbox to be littered with email notifications regarding all our administrative changes. We’d prefer if subscribers were only receiving notifications for new content. It looks like administrators can configure at what frequency a subscriber receives notifications, but is there a way to limit what they receive a notification for? If not, is there another workaround rather than unsubscribing everyone from the channels that we are making changes to?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best,
Ally Hecht

Hi Ally,
Great question! I learned this the hard way when I was a customer too. Moved channels trigger a notification to followers. There isn’t a setting to turn off what they receive notifications for but I do have 2 options beyond subscription settings that should solve what you’re after.
1. Ask Support
When you have a cleanup session planned, work with support@igloosoftware.com to disable notifications from your digital workplace and enable them when you’re done. Support can help with this during their working hours and I find it helpful to schedule the on/off with them ahead of time. This disables notification across your entire digital workplace so you’ll want to take care to avoid any important posts expecting to prompt an instant notification during that time.
2. Remove Access
Moving a few things in a pinch? Remove access to the channel for all groups. Members without access won’t receive a notification. Subscribed admins will so don’t be alarmed if a few folks get them.
Hope that helps!
