Adding a Logo
What is it?
Site administrators can add an image that will appear at the top of every page along with the site navigation. This is typically a company logo or unique branding for your community. Also, clicking on the logo in the Igloo platform will direct users to the home page.
Features and functionality
There are a few features available when adding a logo to ensure it’s properly presented in your community:
Logo Position locates your logo either above, or in-line with the navigation.
Logo Alignment allows you to choose whether the logo appears to the left, right, or in the center. Note that the Center option is only available when the image is positioned above the navigation.
Logo upload prerequisites:
-Recommended 400x150 pixels
-5MB maximum file size
-JPG, PNG, SVG, and GIF formats are supported
How to add a logo
Adding a logo can be done by navigating to the Control Panel and selecting Appearance under the Presentation menu (Refer to the article Presentation - Control Panel for more information on this menu).
Step 1: Select the Control Panel
The Control Panel has a gear-like shape and is located on the right-hand side of the userbar.
Step 2: Navigate to Appearance in the Presentation column
Once the Control Panel has been selected, select Appearance in the Presentation column. This will take you to a new page where you can add or update a logo and manage your site CSS.
Step 3: Add a logo
Once you are on the Appearance page, you can drag and drop your logo or select the logo box to browse your computer for the image.
Note: Click the “i” icon beside the logo heading for tips on uploading your logo.
Step 4: Apply changes
Once the file has been uploaded, you can optionally select the Position and Alignment for the image and then select Apply Changes.
Frequently Asked Questions
My community is older and my logo has been added via CSS. Can I take advantage of this functionality?
Logos which have been added in the CSS are not as easy to change. Please contact Igloo Support directly for assistance.
Best practices/Tips and tricks
Recommended image sizes
The recommended size for a logo is 400x150 pixels, the maximum size of the logo is 5MB and that the supported file formats are JPG, PNG, SVG, and GIF. In the logo section of the Appearance options, you’ll find an “i” icon that contains these details.
Note: If you wish to add or change a banner in your community: Width for the banner is: side is 220px, height is flexible, and mid column 1100px - X of side columns. If the banner spans the entire website - it needs to be 2200px wide
