Links Widget
What is it?
Use the Links Widget to aggregate important links in a centralized location on a Page or Space. These links can be URLs that are internal or external to the digital workplace.
Features and functionality
Configure the Links Widget
Editing the Links Widget allows you to configure the links it contains and the display properties of the Widget.
Options tab
Use the Options tab to configure the following features:
- Title: Enter a name that describes what content the Widget displays. This name will appear above the Widget.
- Description: Enter text that gives additional context to the Widget.
Layout tab
Use the Layout tab to add and customize links in the Widget. The Arrange link as option determines whether the Widget will use the Default, Individual, or Group arrangements.
The Default arrangement allows the customization of:
- Number of columns: Select how many columns links will span. If the Widget is in a narrow side column avoid having multiple. Selecting a value other than 1 will remove the Number of results option.
- Number of results: Enter how many links to initially display. If this value is less than the number of links, users must click More to see the additional links. This option is not displayed when the Number of columns is greater than 1.
The Individual arrangement allows the customization of:
- Select A View: Select either List or Bar view. The list view will display links as basic text, while Bar view allows for the customization of a background color behind the text.
- Arrow style: Select whether links will have a navigational cue. Options include: None, Arrow, Chevron, and Filled chevron.
- Link title color: Select what color is used for the link text. Use the default color, or enter a custom color.
- Line between links: Select whether a line appears between links. This option is not available in Bar View.
- Bar style: Select whether the bar contains a colored Outline, or Fill. This option is not available in List View.
- Bar color: Select the color used by the Bar style. Link text color will automatically change between white and black to aid in readability. This option is not available in List View.

Each link group will initially display a maximum of 10 links. Users must click More to see the additional links.
Adding links in the Layout tab
Add links to the Widget by entering a Link title and associated URL. Entering a URL without an associated Link Title will cause the Links Widget to display the URL. Entering a Link Title without a valid URL will add an inactive link to the Links Widget. A Name can be up to 140 characters while a URL can be up to 250 characters.
- Add links to locations in your digital workplace by using the Community URL search box.
- Select the checkbox next to a link to cause the link to open in a new tab.
- Click the X next to a link to remove that link from the Widget.
- Click and drag the menu icon next to a link to reorder links.
- Click Add Link to add additional link entry rows to the Widget.
Appearance tab
Use the Appearance tab to apply custom CSS classes to the Widget.
Using the Links Widget
Once configured, clicking a link in the Links Widget will navigate a user to the associated URL. Whether this navigation occurs in a new browser tab or not is determined by how the link was set up in the Widget. Refer to the Adding links in the Layout tab section above to learn more about changing this behavior.
If the Links Widget is displaying a subset of its links, click the More button to view all the links it contains. Once expanded, click Less to display the minimum number of links.
