Navigation - Projects as Spaces - Any Way to Tether to Department Spaces?
Hello, again. Carola Castillo and I are coming to grips with the fact that Projects are Spaces, yet you can't nest a Space under a Space. We were wanting to nest a Space associated with a Department, under the Department's Space.
Any cute ways around this? Not fond of a navigational item called Projects in large enterprise. We tried using Pages but the navigation (or lack thereof) becomes confusing.
Tammy Triplett , know what I mean?

Hi Teri Wayne - I know we're talking in 30 min or so, but could we hide the page holding all the projects, rather than having it as a navigational item and instead drop a navigation widget (pointed at the page holding all the project spaces) on the department landing page?
Let's discuss at 3pm.
Teri Wayne you can use redirects.
We've faced that issue, too. Our solution has been to hide project space so it's not in the nav, and then just use the nav widget on the space to link out to all of the relevant projects.
Yes, I totally understand your dilemma here. We had many projects under groups in Jive and when we migrated we lost that parent/child relationship. I made a point in our migration to ensure the parent group title was included in the project name to help us re-make the relationship. Since migration our use of spaces for projects has fallen off as there's not much project functionality there and our folks are using other tools with more project planning functionality. But, for those that do use them, we create a separate space, then add a link to it on the would-be parent space and vice versa. Usually a Links widget on each side.
Tammy Triplett that's exactly what we're going to do. On the business side, we have only modest uptake of Teams (the tech people use it and Sharepoint) so we're eager to use the project space and do the linking as you suggest.
