Making Achieved Articles Disappear
I archived a blog article, however, it still appears. What else do I need to do to make it disappear?

Curious if there is a better way - but I have an "archive" blog channel with access turned off and if I want the article off of a blog feed, I move it to the archive channel. A little bit of a workaround but I also don't want archive articles to be visible.
Molly Sproatt That's a great solution. Like you said a bit of a workaround but sometimes that is required. Thank you for sharing.
I've raised this as a request as well, we really want archives to not be visible.
Megan Katsanevas - Can you please post your request link so we can vote it up? This would be a GREAT feature add!
I think i did it via my customer success manager before I had access to do it directly - let me check!
Prior to the last cycle release archived content was visible but grayed out. In the last cycle release, accessibility changes now show them looking a lot more like the non-archived content. I am not happy about this change and would prefer that all archived content show like folder channels handle archived content, removing the archived content from the active content and putting it under a "show archived content" link at the bottom of the channel. I submitted an enhancement idea for this long before this recent accessibility change. Please vote it up: CARE-I-264
Oh, and I also have a whole archive section of site architecture where I move content that we need to retain, but not be seen at all. We use a mix of archive in place and move to the archive section.
Hi Tammy Triplett
Curious if you manage notifications for content moved to the archive section. I also established an archive section that is private to remove content completely from view. Notifications are globally disabled, but this is something we are looking to implement. Since manual archive/unarchive and movement of content creates a notification, is there a process you use to limit or prevent additional alerts?
Will selecting ‘Notification Settings limited to comments and @mentions’ at the channel level solve this issue?
Since documents don’t have the option to not notify followers of edits, I am also considering what happens when documents are manually archived and moved.
Thanks for any information!
Hi Sara Ellington
We either remove permissions from the move from and move to channels while we make the move or if it is a larger effort, we will suspend notifications while we do it. We do use caution with both of these solutions to ensure the lowest impact to users (like doing it late at night or on the weekend). Also, instead of manual archive from the Actions menu, I will often edit and add a rule to the piece of content, then select "Don't notify followers" check box. @mentions do still receive a notification in this case though, so if that's an issue, I remove access, set the rule, then restore access.
Documents do send notifications for versions and moves. Removing access or disabling all notifications is the only way I have found to prevent them. But if you set an archive rule through edit, you can select the "Don't notify followers" box to prevent notifications.
I do not know the answer for ‘Notification Settings limited to comments and @mentions’ ... I have never tried that option. I do not see it mentioned in the Knowledge Base articles anywhere. If this setting works, I would love to also use it for this purpose.
Emma Fotino - Can you provide insight on the question about ‘Notification Settings limited to comments and @mentions’ ? Does that channel setting prevent notifications of moves?
Hi Tammy Triplett and Sara Ellington,
This setting will only change the default behaviour for the Channel. If users are following the article itself, they will still receive notifications of edits (which is what a move would be categorized as in this case).
If user's are only following the Channel, and not the article that is being moved, then they won't receive notifications if utilizing that notification limitation setting.

Emma Fotino Thank you!
Tammy Triplett Thank you. Voted! :)
I've submitted a product request on this in the past, so I know at least one exists to vote up within Igloo Ideas!
