Email a "Click to subscribe" link
Our team is launching a new weekly blog/newsletter. We would like users to subscribe to the new blog, and are seeking to make it as easy as possible. Is it possible to generate a "Click here to subscribe" link that we can send in an email that subscribes users to a specific blog channel?

Andrew Sutton I work for a fairly large company and we face the same issues with getting buy-in from our users to comply with simple asks, like clicking on the bell icon and choosing your subscription frequency.
What we have done, which had some success, was send out an email on how to subscribe to a blog, with a fun little video that I made myself, showing users the simple steps. Watching sometimes is easier than reading. The video did quite well and got a lot of views.
Another other idea we had, was to sporadically do give prize giveaways on the blog! So once in a while there will be an article that says, "the first person to comment on this blog will win a company swag item". This creates excitement, and also adds the need to be subscribe instantly so you can get in there and win!
Let me know if you try something new that ends up being successful as were always looking for new ways to engage our users.

I don't have an answer but following for replies! We do use the bell on our blog widgets and have dabbled in the subscription integration, but I would LOVE a link to subscribe.
Hi Andrew (and Molly!)
I haven't had luck with a subscription link but was going to recommend the integration that Molly mentioned. You can see it in action on this page: https://customercare.igloosoftware.com/community/subscription_center
Alternatively, Member Groups can be subscribed to your new newsletter on the blog channel Subscription page if you want to set that for them!
I don't think my company has access to the subscription integrations widget, but I have enabled the bell icon for the blog in question.
My manager originally asked me to subscribe a group of users, but I pointed out that most users presented with an email subscription they didn't ask for would mark it as spam and delete without reading. At least that's what I would do!
I was hoping that an invitation to subscribe would have a better reception and that users who do subscribe willingly would have more buy-in. I can send an email with instructions on how to subscribe, but even the simplest of instructions will turn some users away. Even some of those with genuine interest might set the email aside with the intention to return to it later and forget. A link offers immediate results for the least effort on the part of the audience.
Hey Andrew,
Understood! I chatted this through with Igloo Support and Developer Relations teams to see if we could get creative about it but didn't have success. Subscribing isn't so much a link like we might "copy link address", and rather a javascript action.
Let me know if you're interested in exploring that subscription widget.

Thanks for the follow up Brigid, I appreciate the effort. I'm unfortunately not the person that can talk about our feature set, but I'll pass the recommendation along.
Aris Fullard - This particular question made me think of your question the other week about how to ensure your users get a regular digest of content they may have missed. Looping you in here!
