Easy way crowd source videos to our social zone
We want our employees to upload videos to our social zone for a contest but we've found it to have too many steps.
Most employees would take their video on their cell phone - so they'd then have to email it to themselves, upload to a specific folder on Live that we've linked somewhere (so they'd have to find their way there!) and then upload the video file, wait for it to load, publish it, wait for it to load. THEN get the embed URL and head back to the social zone to post their video. Second option - tell them to store their video elsewhere (Sharepoint, etc.) and then get the embed URL from there. Still - way too complex for many.
We've never successfully gotten one team member to do this! Are we missing something? Does anyone have an easier way?

Hi Molly Sproatt I've noticed that there have not responses yet and I suspect it may be due to folks being so busy with business continuity plans. I'm hoping you get some feedback shortly!
Hi Molly Sproatt,
You could add a Folder Contents Widget to the Social Zone that displays the Folder where the files are stored and configure it to allow adding more files. Similar to the screenshot below.
When a user browses to this page from their mobile phone, they can select the Upload a File link and then upload directly to the folder. If you think that will help, I can send some more info with respect to configuring the folder widget.
Regards,
Steve
Thanks Steve Jones - that is a great idea if we were driving people to a specific page, but we've got our social feed surfaced as a tab on our homepage. We do try to drive them to the page, but we've seen in our data that people primarily access the feed via our homepage - and we don't have the real estate there unfortunately.
Thanks Steve Jones ! While it may not have worked for Molly, I think it will solve a problem I was presented with just yesterday.
Judy Headrick That's great to hear!
