Best Practices for Rolling out a new Intranet ...
Hi there! I'm curious if anyone would be willing to share some of their internal communications strategy best practices in rolling out a new corporate intranet. Anything would be helpful, as I'm looking to get some ideas. Thanks! - Wilam

Hi Wilam, thanks for your question. While I'm sure the community has some great ideas to share, I wanted to start you off with this chapter from our Digital Workplace Playbook. There's a lot of good points in here along the lines of recruiting champions to create hype, planning a cadence for that hype and cultivating some C-Level engagement to support launch efforts.
In the past we've seen all manner of things - hype posts on internal company monitors, email blasts, physical sign boards, QR codes, and swag, swag swag.
Best practice is to establish a plan and cadence, keep messaging consistent and target the correct audiences for those communications.
Happy to chat about this if you've got additional questions.
Brad Rooke Thanks for this!
Hi Wilam Tarris! Some ideas that have worked for me in the past:
Dori Gray Thanks very much. I love the idea of a scavenger hunt on the intranet!
Wilam Tarris, I echo everything Dori Gray stated. We did many of the same things minus the branded items. We also had a soft launch for a month to get the team used to the new intranet before the cutover from the old one. We weren't sure if the team wanted to keep the old name so we held a naming contest and awarded prizes. Ultimately, the team decided to stick with the old name. :)
John Vasquez Oh yes I love naming contests! And if you keep voting private, you don't even have to pick the actual winner if it isn't what you like
Thanks very much, everyone! I appreciate the help!
