What is the Workday Org Chart Integration?
The Workday Org Chart Integration displays your organization’s employee hierarchy. Using this Integration, you can view and navigate employee’s Workday profiles. The Workday Org Chart Integration is part of the Integrations Widget and can be placed on Pages or Spaces within your digital workplace.
To use this integration, your organization must have an active account with Workday.
Considerations and Caveats
Displaying profile photos in the widget
For users to view profile pictures in the widget, a Workday administrator must enable integration permissions to user accounts in Workday. Enabling this feature will enable work email address visibility to employees. The widget uses this email attribute (primaryWorkEmail) to retrieve profile photos from users' Igloo profiles.
Workday Org Chart Views
There are two views available: Tree and List. These require separate setups of the Integrations Widget.
Fields used by the Workday Org Chart Integration
The Workday Org Chart Integration uses the following fields from workday:
- Name: descriptor
- Title: businessTitle
- Department: primarySupervisoryOrganization descriptor
- Email: primaryWorkEmail
- Phone: primaryWorkPhone
- Location: location descriptor
The Workday Org Chart Integration uses the following fields from Igloo:
- Photo: Igloo profile Photo
Setting up the Workday Org Chart Integration
Within Workday do the following:
- In Workday Community, find the OAuth API setup article.
- Create a client ID for the Workday Integration. The name of the API is shown at first login.
- Grant type must be set to Implicit OAuth.
- Whitelist the Igloo OAuth callback receiver. Depending on your access policy, you may need an additional IP grant.
- This will take the form https://{workplace domain}/cmedia/oauth/receiver-workday.html.
- Set the scope to include Staffing, Jobs and Positions, Organizations and Roles.
Leave Workday open and in a new browser window navigate to your digital workplace. You will need to refer back to Workday when configuring step 4 of the integration setup.
- Add the Integrations Widget to a Page or Space.
- Follow the steps in How to add and edit a Widget to add the Integrations Widget to your Page or Space.
- Do not place it in the narrow side columns of the Page or Space. This positioning is not supported for the Workday Org Chart Integration.
- Edit the Integrations Widget.
- Select the Workday Org Chart Integration from the Integration Library.
- Select either Tree View or List View.
- Configure the required basic options of the Integration. Find this in your Workday environment.
- Workday OAuth Server URL: Enter the Workday authorization server URL.
- Workday API Server URL: Enter the Workday API server URL.
- Workday Instance ID (Tenant): Enter the ID of the Workday instance to connect to. Workday recommends this to be lower case.
- Workday Client ID: Enter the Workday Client ID that your Workday Admin has set up.
- Configure Advanced Options
- Show Send Message: Select this option to enable the SIP send message functionality.
- Default Worker ID: Enter a Worker ID to focus on that Worker when the Integration loads. Leave blank to focus on the current user.
