Workday Inbox Actions Integration
The Workday Inbox Actions Integration displays a users Workday task list. Users can select any task from this list to navigate to their Workday inbox.
This integration requires that users log into it with their Workday credentials.
What's needed to set up the Workday Inbox Actions Integration
- A Workday Administrator. Some setup steps involve performing actions within an organization's Workday instance.
- Workplace and Enterprise Administrators can set up Integrations on Dashboard, Pages, and Spaces.
- Space Administrators can only set up Integrations within the Space that they administer.
- Users can set up Integrations on Personal Dashboards, and Pages and Spaces where they have Edit or Full access.
How to set up up the Workday Inbox Actions Integration
Follow steps 1-9 when setting up this Integration for the first time in a digital workplace, or networked enterprise.
Later set ups can skip to step 4 and reuse the same Igloo App ID from the first set up.
- Submit a ticket to Igloo Support.
- Include the following details in the support ticket:
- State that you are setting up the Workday Inbox Actions Integration for the first time in your digital workplace, or networked enterprise.
- The URL of your digital workplace.
- Igloo Support will provide you with a callback URL. This URL is needed for the next step.
- This support ticket will remain open as further communication will be needed in step 3.
- Add a new OAuth client to your Workday instance.
- The callback URL obtained in step 1 is needed to complete set-up of this client.
- Respond to the existing support ticket.
- Include the following details about the created Workday OAuth Client:
- Client ID
- Client Secret
- Workday REST API Endpoint
- Token Endpoint
- Authorization Endpoint
- With this information, Igloo Support will provide an Igloo App ID. This App ID is needed to set up the integration (step 7).
- Place the Integration Widget.
- Check out the knowledge base article Placing a Widget for details on different placement options.
- Click the Edit button located on the Widgets title bar.
- Select the Workday Inbox Actions integration from the Integration Library.
- Configure the properties of the Workday Inbox Actions integration using the Options tab.
- Title: Enter a name that describes what content the Widget displays. This name is displayed above the Widget.
- Title link: Enter a URL. Click the Title to navigate a user to this URL.
- Description: Enter text that gives additional context to the Widget. This text is displayed below the Title.
- Workday Token URL: Enter the Workday Token URL associated with the OAuth client created in step 2.
- Workday Authorization URL: Enter the Workday Authorization URL associated with the OAuth client created in step 2.
- Workday API Server URL: Enter the Workday API Server URL associated with the OAuth client created in step 2.
- Workday Inbox URL: Enter the Workday Inbox URL.
- Igloo App ID: Enter the Igloo App ID that Igloo Support provided in step 3.
- Click Update to temporarily apply the configuration properties.
- Click Publish Page, or Save as Draft to save and apply the configuration.
Results of setting up a Workday Inbox Actions Integration
Once set up, the widget will display a prompt to "Sign in with Workday". Users must authenticate using their Workday credentials. After authenticating, a list of their tasks will be displayed.
