Last week, ahead of the Microsoft Inspire conference, we announced that Igloo will be providing a series of integrations and functionality enhancements with Microsoft Teams.  This builds on our existing Office 365 integrations and will unify corporate and team-level communication and collaboration to greatly enhance productivity for all employees.  Our goal is to equip organizations like yours with the ability to deliver a single and engaging digital destination for your employees.   

Why are we doing this?

Igloo is a digital workplace. It’s a destination where employees start their day and where they go to communicate, collaborate, and get work done. At Igloo, we view the digital workplace as having three distinct personas - your employees, your teams, and your leadership. We call this the ME, WE and the US. For your digital workplace to succeed, you must understand the needs of each group, the tools they use every day, and what success looks like for each group.

Our Microsoft Teams strategy is aimed at the WE persona in any digital workplace. It's about surfacing and integrating team-based activities and conversations across departments, projects, or cross-functional teams. 

Organizations around the world are plagued by duplicated initiatives, siloed conversations, and team productivity challenges. Microsoft Teams integration with Igloo is the latest in a series of innovative solutions and enhancements that we're bringing to market to solve these issues and surface information, files, and conversations in a much more user-friendly manner than was possible with legacy intranets. With this integration, we are delivering true collaboration in context.

Phase one of the enhancements to Igloo’s Digital Workplace platform will extend Microsoft Teams functionality for users in the following areas: 

• Direct Messaging: From the Igloo personal profile page, profile card, and within activity streams, Igloo users can send direct messages to users of Microsoft Teams, facilitating deeper collaboration and communication across an organization.
  
  
• Content Sharing: Content can also be shared bi-directionally between the Igloo Digital Workplace and Microsoft Teams channels, enhancing collaboration around content. For example, from within Igloo, users can select a channel in Microsoft Teams to directly share content and initiate conversations with specific Microsoft Teams users.
  
  
• Personal Dashboard: From within Microsoft Teams, users can create a personalized dashboard showcasing corporate content, conversations, connections, and activity streams from within their corporate Igloo Digital Workplace.
