Manage Authentication Settings

Managing workplace authentication from the EAP

While managing a workplace's settings from the Enterprise Administration Panel(EAP), you can set and configure the authentication method that is used when signing in.

How to select the authentication method of a workplace from the EAP

  1. While signed into a digital workplace that is part of the Networked Enterprise, click the Control Panel button (adminpng) to open the Control Panel.
  2. Select EAP from under the Resources section of the Control Panel to navigate to the EAP.
  3. On the Communities tab, click the digital workplace that you want to edit. This will open the workplace's configuration options.
  4. Select the Authentication tab to view what configuration options are available.
  5. Select the Authentication Method that the selected workplace should use.
    • Igloo: Sign in page requires users to enter their Igloo Authentication credentials.
    • SAML: Sign in page redirects to the configured IdP. Users must enter their SSO credentials to sign in.
    • SAML/Igloo: Sign in page defaults to Igloo, but contains a button to navigate to the configured IdP. Users can enter their Igloo Authentication credentials from the default sign in page, or navigate to the IdP to enter their SSO credentials to sign in.
    • LDAP: Sign in page requires users to enter their LDAP Auth credentials.
  6. To prevent a workplace's Sign In Settings page from being accessible, click the lock next to the authentication method.

How to configure Igloo authentication

When you select Igloo as the Authentication Provider, you will not have any additional configuration options within the EAP. If you have not restricted editing authentication settings within the workplace (by clicking the lock next to the authentication method dropdown), additional options can be found on the workplace's Sign In Settings page.

How to configure SAML authentication

When you select SAML or SAML/IGLOO as the Authentication Provider, you will be presented with a SAML configuration form. Follow the setup instructions for your IdP, which you can find here:

How to configure LDAP authentication

When you select LDAP as the Authentication Provider, you will be presented with an LDAP configuration form. Follow our LDAP Auth setup article to learn how to configure this authentication method.

Changing multiple workplace authentication methods in bulk

When bulk editing multiple workplaces, it is possible to set the authentication method for the selected workplaces. If your select SAML or LDAP options, you will still need to configure them from their EAP Authentication page or Sign in Settings page.
