Overview

You can use graphical links as an alternative to text-based links when linking to content that resides outside of your digital workplace. With the exception of HTML widgets, microblog posts, comments, and other locations that use the compact WYSIWYG editor, you can insert a graphical link using the Embed Link tool found on the WYSIWYG editor's toolbar. A graphical link typically shows an image from the article and some text; this will depend on the content provider being linked to. In addition to providing navigation to the full content, graphical links display social media sharing buttons when hovering over the link.

Not all links to external content providers can be made into graphical links. For a list of officially supported content providers, see Providers.

How to insert a graphical link

1. In the WYSIWYG Editor, select Embed URL. This tool is not available in HTML widgets, microblog posts, comments, and other locations that use the compact WYSIWYG editor.
2. Paste the URL of the content that you want to link to into the provided text box.
3. Select Insert.
