UI/UX updates to the Search Settings page

Improve your advanced search with an expanded search control panel

At Igloo, we strive to create a user-friendly and adaptable platform. With the growing number of search improvements and settings, we have expanded the control panel to better display and organize the settings for advanced search. This update includes a refreshed UI to accommodate the additional search settings and improve the overall usability of the Search Settings page.

The search settings control panel now has the following sections:

• General: This section contains overall search settings. 
• Contact Card: This section contains field mappings specific to the search contact cards (for example, the field mapping assists administrators in determining which fields to display on the contact card search results). 
• Recommended Results: This section contains the management of recommended results.

Updates to the default search operator

Enjoy a richer and more refined experience with your keyword searches

To help improve the user search experience we have introduced a change to the default multi-keyword search behaviour. Previously, the OR operator was used by default — potentially returning a less refined or applicable search. Now, multi-keyword searches will use the AND operator between keywords as default. This means that the results returned will include ALL the keywords used, improving search relevancy. 

Although the AND operator will be used by default, we have also introduced a new filter to toggle the advanced search, allowing users to switch between AND/OR logic for their current search. To perform a search using the OR operator there are two options:

1. On the Search Results page, expand the Additional Options tab (formerly named Additional Filters) on the left-hand side of the page. This will only affect the current search session. It does not persist as the default search operator and will need to be selected for future searches. 
2. Use boolean operators within the search query
   • | for OR
   • + for AND

• Editing a profile as an administrator can overwrite a user's preferred language with the administrator (Igloo-19583)
• Wiki Index widget displays version as a clickable link regardless of a user's access level (Igloo-19529)

• Widget carousel missing on some devices with touch screens (Igloo-19648)

This update is targeted to be released during the evening (EST) of March 16th, 2022.
