Igloo Mobile
A new version of Igloo Mobile (version 1.4) is now available in the App Store and Google Play, with several new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements to improve the overall user experience.
- Session renewal - Users in communities configured to use SAML authentication no longer need to re-enter their credentials to renew their session.
- Caching of feed - Recently accessed content is cached, so content is immediately displayed once the app is opened and for viewing without a connection. This also reduces mobile data usage.
- Auto-refresh of feed - Each time the app is brought to the foreground, the availability of new content is checked. Users no longer need to manually refresh their feed to access the latest content.
- Notifications tab - A new tab has been added to provide the user with a summary of content where they have been mentioned. A badge count displays the total number of unread notifications. This allows the user to focus on things that require their attention.
- Help text - When a screen is empty (i.e. My Feeds, Notifications), information will be displayed to guide the user in getting content in their feed. Tool tips for channel view and notifications tab will appear the first time a user navigates in the app to explain how content shows up.
- Search enhancement - Content types previously unsupported by the app (pages, spaces) now open in an in-app browser view, so that all content is accessible from the app.
- Photo sharing enhancement – In the iOS version, a user can choose multiple photos when posting a microblog post or a comment. When viewing a post or a comment with multiple photos, a user can tap to open a photo and swipe left to view others in the post.
Improvements to Responsive Slideshow Widget
A number of improvements have been introduced to improve layout and performance for a better user experience:
- Slideshow layout has been improved for the mobile responsive mode. When Content Body is enabled (i.e. "Don't show body text" is unchecked) and the page is in the mobile responsive mode, the body text is not shown. Too much text causes the slideshow to render poorly resulting in a poor user experience.
- Content is center aligned vertically unless there is too much content to display. In this case, content is top aligned vertically.
- When Image setting is Behind Content or No Image and Content Body is disabled, the text is center aligned within the box. When Image setting is Behind Content or No Image and Content Body is enabled, the text is left aligned within the box.
- When Image setting is Above Content or Beside Content, the box the text is contained within is left aligned.
- Loading performance has been improved for slow connections.
- Text visibility in a channel containing one or more posts with no images has been improved when Auto Overlay and Behind Content image options are set.
Unique Page Title for 404 Page
We have now changed the page title for 404 pages on your community to “Page Not Found – Community Name”. This makes it easier to identify broken links within your community using tools such as Google Analytics.
Modernization of Additional Modals
Continuing our initiative to modernize our alerts and modals, alerts and modals in the following areas have been updated with the new design:
- Microblogs
- Moderator removal
- Replying to messages
- Label creation
- Bookmarks
Minor UI enhancements
Several UI enhancements were added to improve the UI:
- We've added a scrollbar to the GIPHY results window, so that users now have different scrolling options.
- Users’ last name are wrapped in the list of users who liked a content, so that more of the name is shown. Long names are still truncated.
- Styling of selected items in the date picker have been updated to match those of the time picker for better consistency.
Integrations with Zendesk, Slack, and Azure Active Directory and Workday Org Chart
The Zendesk integration has been updated to improve the login experience.
- Logins are now synchronized across multiple Zendesk integration widgets on the same page.
- We’ve also added the ability to logout of the current account, which are also synchronized on the same page.
Finally, we’ve significantly reduced the number of steps to configure the Zendesk integrations by removing the need to create your own Zendesk client.
The latest update to the Slack integration adds support for private channels, so that you can use the integration in more areas.
The Azure Active Directory Org Chart integration has been updated with some enhancements:
- Display name search is now supported in addition to first name and last name.
- The configuration of the user filter in the previous release has been improved to provide a selection of choices instead of having you type in the user property to filter on. This reduces the need to look up supported user properties.
- The profile picture size of the currently selected employee has been reduced so that it renders better with lower resolution images.
- We’ve improved the interface for the list view by removing empty blocks that represent no direct reports, no peers and no managers.
The Workday Org Chart integration has been updated with some enhancements:
- We’ve improved the interface for the list view by removing empty blocks that represent no direct reports, no peers and no managers.
- The profile picture size of the currently selected employee has been reduced so that it renders better with lower resolution images.
