At the heart of our improvements to the content creation experience is the new editor. Publishers will now experience a consistent, modern publishing experience across the entire product, including the HTML content widget.
The HTML content widget is one of the most popular tools because of its flexibility. Author content in a plain or rich-text format, embed third-party content, or simply write HTML code directly in the app with a more user-friendly code view.
Channel Templates bring consistency to the content creation process, when authoring a blog or wiki article, posting a forum topic, or creating a calendar event.
When a template is applied, a new alert will appear at the top of the content body indicating that content has been pre-populated. This alert will disappear once you start to author content.
The option to discard current content and load the template will no longer be available in order to protect the publisher from inadvertently losing their work.
Igloo supports multilingual content translation for both system and user-generated content, relying upon a combination of machine and community translation.
When two or more languages are enabled in Igloo, a quick link appears in the user bar. This feature allows you to toggle between the supported languages.
Previously, the language toggle was only available to members of a site who have authenticated as users. With the latest update, this feature is now available to anonymous users as well.
Igloo Microblogs are designed for social sharing and conversation. Each Microblog is organized into a channel and can be renamed to define its purpose, like “Watercooler” or “Office News”.
Each channel also has a hash name, defined by the creator on setup. The pound sign (or hash) turns a word into a link to the channel and makes it easier to cross-share microblog posts.
An update to the user interface for Microblogs helps to surface both the channel name and hashtag in a way that’s more intuitive and discoverable for the end user.
A new version of Igloo Mobile (version 1.3) is now available in the App Store and Google Play, with a number of new features, bug fixes, and performance improvements.
The Slack integration provides a portal into your Slack channels. The latest update includes a number of improvements to both performance and usability.
Overall load time has improved and administrators may now set the number of messages to load from the channel history. Users benefit from an experience that is more closely aligned to the web and native client, with the ability to add captions and comments when sharing a file.
The Zendesk integration has been updated to enable administrators to show custom fields that are mandatory when making a request and users can now add comments to a request.
The Workday integration has been updated to support real-time messaging via the default SIP client stored in that system.
