Installing the File Manager

You can install the File Manager on any computer running Windows 7 + or Apple OS 10.10 +. 

Note: Your organization may restrict your ability to install applications on your computer. Please follow your organization's policies and procedures when installing the File Manager.

How to install the File Manager (Windows)

The following steps describe how to install the File Manager on a computer running Windows 7 or above. 

  1. Download the File Manager.
  2. Locate the downloaded installer and double click it to begin installing.
  3. Read the Terms of Use and click "I Agree" to continue the installation process.
  4. Select whether to install the application for all users of the computer (requires administrator credentials), or only you, and then click "Next". 
    • If you selected to install for all users, you must agree to the Terms of Use again.
    • The default install location for  "All Users" is: C:\Program Files\File Manager
    • The default install location for "Only for me" is: C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Programs\File Manager
  5. Select where you want to install the File Manager and then click Install.
  6. After the File Manager has installed, you can click "Finish" to complete the installation process. By default, it will open the File Manager after clicking "Finish". If you would not like to immediately run the File Manager, uncheck the "Run File Manager" option before clicking Finish.

How to install the File Manager (Apple)

The following steps describe how to install the File Manager on a computer running  Apple OS 10.10 or above. 

  1. Download the File Manager.
  2. Locate the downloaded installer and open it to begin installing.
  3. Read the Terms of Use and click "Agree" to continue the installation process.
  4. When presented with the option, drag the File Manager application into your Applications folder.

Next Steps

With installation complete, you can launch the File Manager from the location where you installed it or the desktop shortcut link. After launching the File Manager for the first time, verify that it is up to date (Help > Check Updates). You can now add and connect to your digital workplace.
