Role - Project Sponsor
Overview
The Project Sponsor role is common in larger organizations and is often in a middle-management role. In larger organizations, this role often plays a key intermediary between other members and the Executive Sponsor and can help expedite key decisions to keep the project on schedule. They are also typically a key stakeholder, invested in the project success/direction/outcome.
Key responsibilities
- Has regular touchpoints with the Executive Sponsor throughout the project to ensure the desired business value and outcomes are realized
- Acts as the voice of the Executive Sponsor
- Influences project direction and approves key deliverables with clear direction on decision-making authority from the Executive Sponsor
