Migrating policies to folders or wiki pages (BP)
When first migrating policies, it can be a challenge to organize them in an easily searchable way, especially when they may be contained in different formats from an old system. Jive instances, for example, almost always hold policies as uploaded PDFs. The best practice here is to migrate files over and transfer that information to wiki articles, but the initial file transfer is a lot less work than creating dozens or hundreds of wiki articles. When migrating, consider these factors:
- Are policies stored as files or XML originally?
- Is there a content owner who will shepherd them post-migration?
- What are the benefits of interconnected policies?
