Setting up an approval process for your launch plan (BP)

This best practice provides recommendations to help define your approval processs for a successful launch of your digital workplace solution.
Recommendation
Create a detailed approval process for your launch plan, and ensure that it is documented. To help you get started, we have attached a sample template that you may use to track all launch approvals.
The following activities should be considered when building your list of items to be approved prior to launch:
- Budget
- Which items will require budget approval to complete?
- Develop communication plan
- Will this plan involve digital only communications or will printed posters, desk drops or swag be utilized?
- Train users
- Who will conduct the training?
- Who can approve the necessary training time for each functional area?
- Recruit and engage advocates
- Champions and advocates will need to dedicate time to the launch, have their leaders approved this?
- Refine governance model and measurement plan
- Digital Workplace administrators and contributors will need time and resources.
- Execute business readiness plan
- How will users find out about the instance?
- Desk drops, swag, posters, launch event?
- Do you have a communication plan for announcements about of the community?
- Do you have a copy of the launch announcement?
- Date/Time of launch
- What are peak hours?
- Do you have global users?
- Who will need to approve the launch timing?
- Escalation contact?
- Do functional departments understand their responsibilities for launch activities?
- Have functional departments committed the necessary resources to support launch activities?
