Hello Natalie,
After an item has been published, there is no way to ghost write that piece of content. The only option is to re-publish.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Emma
|Question
How do you change authors for an article?
I am aware of ghost posting and how to post as someone else, but what do I do to change authorship after an item has been posted. A few people in my community did not use the ghost posting and I am wondering if there is a way to shift the ownership without re-posting the article.

Emma Fotino I have see this functionality in other cloud-based intranet solutions and I think there's business value, especially if for example a wiki article is tied to someone who leaves the company and needs to be reassigned to another person. Can this be submitted as a feature request?
Hello Mike Rocco,
This has been submitted as a feature request.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

+1 for this feature request. In the mean time, do you just delete the article and recreate it to "re-publish" it? Then you lose all the followers and metrics. There's got to be a better way. When a team member leaves the organization, how else can we change the author so that a terminated employee isn't listed?
Emma Fotino any update on this feature request? We just had this happen again, and once again, had no choice but to defer to deleting and republishing the article. For the reasons David Domine lists, this is not a good strategy.
Hello Mike Rocco,
I do not currently have an update that I can provide to you.
David Domine,
Currently, as you have noted, the only way to achieve an author reassignment is to re-publish the article.
If you are not concerned with re-assigning but, rather, removing the user's name, another option might be to re-add that user to the community with the same email address, change their name in the Manage Members area (to something like "Anonymous" or "Employee"), and then revoke the membership again.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Emma
Thanks Emma. I think you can clearly see that provisioning gymnastics skills are required to just change the author. So please ping the developers again for this feature. I'll ask our sales rep to do the same. Thank you!
Hello - we are only a couple weeks live and just ran into this. +1 to add this feature to change author post publishing.
We have 3 more customers that have asked about this. Please add +3 to the Feature Requests
Hello Michael Tomon and JanRene Ashman,
I have added +4 to the request. Thank you very much for letting me know.

Emma
Hi Emma Fotino - as the new Internal Communications Specialist here at Ahern, I would like to also +1 this again - and another +1 for a team member who just reached out to me about this, in which she posted this mistakenly as someone else.
Hello Kim,
I have added Ahern to the list.
Regards,
Emma
Please another +1 to the list. the difference for this request is for Calendar events. The Author needs to be changed but all the comments and responses need to stay with the event.
Please another +1 to the list. The whole issue of the management of members leaving an organisation needs to be re-looked at. I should be easy to re-assign authorship and tasks and any other items associated with a particular member.
Additionally, I would like a simple report to show exactly what a particular member is linked to that I can run, prior to revoking a member, so at least I know what manual gymnastics I need to perform to manage the reallocation of items.
