OfflineTrying to bulk upload members. They are all existing members and I just want to update one field in the membership record.
Did an extract of all members, used this as a basis, updated the column contents for the field I wanted updated, used notepad to save as comma separated text file (well hidden step), then copied and pasted all from text file into member bulk upload area (see attached text file)

It did not work, got lots of error messages. THIS SHOULD NOT BE THIS UNFRIENDLY!

Hello Louise,
It looks like you were using the CSV Headers provided by the Member Export. For upload, these need to be replaced with the values found in the "CSV Data" field in the Bulk Member Upload section of the Manage Members area in the Control Panel.
Can I have you replace the headers in your test CSV with those values and attempt the upload again?
If this still fails, it might be best to submit a ticket to support@igloosoftware.com so we can dig a little deeper.

Hi Dan, Thankyou for your response however I it is still not working.
I have tried;
1. Copying the entire contents of the text file into the CSV data: field after the existing content of this field
2. Copying the entire contents of the text file into the CSV data: field overwriting the existing content of this field.
3. Copying the data contents (without the headings) of the text file into the CSV data: field after the existing content of this field
4. Copying the data contents (without the headings) into the CSV data: field overwriting the existing content of this field.
Nothing works! I get the same error messages.
The instructions are unclear
Hi, Got my test file to load after a lot of messing around. No idea how it worked as after a day and a half of trying to get this to work I am totally confused. I will log a support ticket but you need to seriously think about improving this function and the documentation/instruction around using this function.
