I have a question about getting metrics on microblogs. (Last metrics question of the day!)
We use microblogs for two purposes:
- To send "quick updates" to audiences. Not social posts, but a quick "reminder: office closed tomorrow" type of update.
- For social engagement.
Because our leadership is highly focused on social engagement in our now-fully-remote company, I'd like to start tracking the engagement of certain microblog channels...the channels we use for purpose #2 above.
I understand that I can see aggregate microblog engagement through Insights Monthly Reports, but I don't need aggregate--I need to parse out just a few microblog channels. So I looked at the Report Library instead. To my eye, neither of the possibilities here seem to do it.
1. microblog channel container report
The microblog channel container report only gives me metrics about the channel itself. It doesn't show me how many new posts or comments on posts occurred on that channel during a given time frame.
2. microblog post activity report
The microblog post activity report seems like it would work EXCEPT that the report doesn't tell me which microblog channel has had the activity in question. The report give gives me the URL of a specific post, and that URL (given the structure of microblogs) doesn't inform me of the channels involved. In other words, I know that this post (https://ata.igloocommunities.com/.mb/8866090e-32f4-ea11-80d9-000d3a0c1465) got X many comments, but unless I click on it, I can't tell to which channels the post has been added. So it doesn't tell me what I need to know about those specific channels.
Is there another way to get the kind of information I need? How do I get my hands on the numbers for new posts, likes, and comments on specific microblog channels?
