At the end of the month, we like to take the opportunity to answer a few of the questions that have come in through various support channels. Your digital workplace is a complicated place, and a lot of the time Administrators have similar use cases and queries. Several of the questions today come directly from the Customer Care forum, where you can ask questions of other Igloo Administrators, as well as the support team.
When you remove the access to a Channel or other item, the subscriptions remain. However, members only receive notifications for items they have access to. This means that after locking the access, you can make edits or move content without it sending notifications, but the subscriptions will be untouched when access is restored.
If you're removing the access permanently, the subscriptions will remain, and members can unsubscribe from it via the Subscriptions area in their profile. Regardless, neither notifications nor Broadcasts will be sent to any member who doesn't have access to an item.
When you've pinned content in your Blog Channel, it isn't pinned in the widget unless the "Show Pinned Content" option is enabled in the widget itself. this give you control over how your content appears on a widget to widget basis, and prevents your pinned articles from crowding out other items. Pinned items from multiple channels will appear in the order they were published, grouped at the top of the widget.
Yes. Head to the document preview page and right-click on the download link. The "Copy link address" option your browser offers will let you copy the direct download link for the item. Using that in widgets or articles in your digital workplace will let members download the file directly from the link, bypassing the document preview page entirely. This makes it easy to add links to download forms or applications right to articles, and reduces friction in your digital workplace by saving people clicks.
