As your digital workplace grows and changes, leaderboards can do a lot to tell you who's driving that change. The audit trails are great for finding out who did what when, but they're designed for accountability and transparency, not aggregate results. In order to get those, you'll need to turn to your analytics. 

Workplace analytics

Conveniently, your Igloo's Workplace Analytics dashboard has a Leaderboard option. It tracks several different actions, and ranks your members based on the aggregates. You can adjust the time scale too. The last four weeks will give you a picture of recently active people, which can be useful when onboarding or launching new areas. It can extend all the way out to the past 12 months, giving you a long term picture of consistent contributors. 

Along with an aggregate of all activity, Workplace Analytics provides three additional ways to look at your members: as Consumers, Contributors, and Creators. Consumers are members who primarily read content. They might be floor employees consulting pricing guides, or colleagues consistently referring to policies. Contributors are ranked by their total likes, ratings, and comments. Leading contributors are usually focused on collaboration, using the social aspects of your digital workplace, or answering questions in comments on items. The Creators section is ordered by the number of items created, including blog articles, forum topics, and uploaded files. 

Each section offers a quick look at the top 20 people in that category, giving you easy visibility into your most prolific members. 

Data Feeds

For a look at more members, you'll need to turn to your digital workplace's Data Feeds. The RptCommunityUser table includes all of the members in your Igloo, and can be ordered by any of the actions available in your Workplace Analytics. It has a breakdown of everyone's actions over the past year. The RptCommunityUserMonth table does the same, but on a month by month basis, letting you see the ebb and flow of your members' activity. 

Once you know who's on your leaderboard, celebrate them! These are the members who are creating and collaborating in your digital workplace. One way to do that is to maintain a Group with those members, and use a Members widget to showcase them on your homepage. Some clients announce it each quarter, recognizing people who have collaborated heavily or become thought leaders in their Igloo. 

Ultimately, leaderboards offer the opportunity to centre your digital workplace around the contributions of your members, and to identify trends in member activity.
