New Content Locator in Site Manager
One of the functions Site Manager provides to administrators is the ability to add content anywhere within their Digital Workplace. In this release, when adding content to the Site Manager, Digital Workplace users can now use a drop down with a type ahead box to search for the site location they want to place the new content in. The type ahead box filters the results according to the input entered by the user while still showing the hierarchy within the Site Map of each item. This enhancement allows Digital Workplace administrators to find their specified site locations both faster and more efficiently.
Option to Suppress Email Content for Blogs
Email notifications for blog content contains message details included in the blog post. This can often raise privacy concerns for organizations should Digital Workplace users decide to forward the email notification externally.
With this release, Digital Workplace users now have the option to suppress content added in the blog post notification email by instead providing a link to the content along with its title and summary only. Recipients of the email notification can then visit the corresponding page and view the full content from within their Digital Workplace. This option is managed by the user when authoring or editing content for blog posts. This enhancement gives users increased security for their content by removing message details in the email. It also creates greater engagement within the Digital Workplace by requiring users to log in to access the information.
Enhancements to Sitemap Translation and View Statistics
Site Administrators now have the ability to export their Sitemap in the defined languages set in their Digital Workplace. By default, every exported Site Map is translated to the target language set by the user across the Digital Workplace for headers and translated fields such as Channel Name, Blog Title, and more.
Additionally, users can now see the count of content views in their Digital Workplace over the past week, month and year. This enhancement gives Site Administers greater visibility to the most useful content, allowing them to make informed decisions about archiving content based on the content view count.
Search Content in Folders Channel
Digital Workplace users can use Folder channels to create corporate, team, and/or project-based file storage areas within their Digital Workplace. In this release, we have added search functionality to the Digital Workplace Folder channel to help locate content.
Users can now search the Folder Channel or an individual file folder for content. The search will be performed in the current directory and any sub-directories. As a user types in the search parameter field, any matching files or folders will be displayed for selection. Users will also have the option to move to Advanced Search to further refine search activity.
Access to the files found will follow any existing security and access permissions currently set in the Digital Workplace.
New Thirty-day Window for Recent Comments & Recent Activity
Today, the Recent Comments and Recent Activity Widget as well as the Recent Comments and Activity in Pulse fetch a lot of historic data to display to Digital Workplace users. Although the browser fetches this data, only the number of results specified by the user are displayed initially with the user having the ability to fetch more as required. With this release, Recent Comments & Recent Activity fetched from the database have been limited to the last 30 days allowing users to experience a faster widget and pulse response time for fetched data.
New feature to Share Hub Blog Content to Spokes
In this release, we've introduced the ability to share Hub blog content to one or more Spokes and surface the content in the Spoke through the Enterprise Feed Widget. Digital Workplace users in a Spoke environment can now view shared content from the Hub and view its details in a connecting Hub workspace without having to log into the Hub environment. This enhancement gives users who spend most of their time in a Spoke workspace to have access to the content created in the Hub workspace.
Enhancement to enable Search Hub from Spoke (Available September 25)
In the June Product Release, Spoke site users were given the ability to search the corporate Hub, directly from the Spoke. This feature allowed Spoke members to quickly and easily find content in the Hub without special navigation. In this release, the search Hub from Spoke functionality has been updated to include a new setting in the Enterprise Administration Panel (EAP). Digital Workplace Administrators can now easily set an option that enables or disables a Spoke members ability to search a digital workplace Hub.
