July Grab Bag: Uploads and Urls
We've received a number of interesting questions in Support this month, and wanted to post a few of them in our monthly grab bag. As organizations press on in their digital transformation, they're relying more heavily on their digital workplaces, and drawing out some fascinating questions about architecture.
Are there limits on file size in Igloo?
Yes. Every digital workplace has a storage limit, which can be viewed in the Community Details area of the Control Panel. In addition, there's an individual file size limit of two gigabytes. Files over two gigabytes will need to be stored externally, but can still be linked to or embedded in your digital workplace.
Can Navigation connection to articles?
This is a more complex question. As people make plans and announcements regarding their current situation, it becomes useful to have a navigation item that links directly to the current update. Now, the Site Manager only lets you place Channels, Pages, and Spaces in the main navigation. However, you can use URL Shortcuts to get what you need.
Place a Page with the name you want in the place you want, and use the URL Shortcuts option in the Control Panel to create a shortcut from that Page to the article you want to connect it to. Members who visit that page will automatically wind up at that article.
If you have any other questions about the Igloo platform, workflows, or best practices, you can leave a comment here, ask a question in the Community area.
