Direct messaging through Microsoft Teams via profile avatars
This Microsoft Teams integration is the latest in a series of Igloo enhancements designed to solve productivity challenges by surfacing information, files, and conversations in a more user-friendly way.
Global setting for administrators Note: This setting is disabled by default and must be enabled by an administrator through the Global Settings within the Control Panel. | ![]() |
End-user experience
Note: Without these details updated in the user's personal profile, other users will not be able to reach them using the direct messaging function. Whenever the option to direct message through Microsoft Teams is selected, the user receives a prompt to confirm that the system can open Microsoft Team in a new tab. If the user has the Microsoft Teams application installed, the new tab will open a Microsoft Teams conversation with the appropriate user. If the user doesn't have the application, they will be able to select a link to download the app instead. Note: If the user selects the option to download the app, they will need to reselect the direct messaging option via the profile avatar of the person they're trying to message. | ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Updates to the Member Directory layout options
The Member Directory provides users with a way to browse and search for other members of the digital workplace. In this release, the default "Tile" layout option has been enhanced to include titles and phone numbers of members for easier access to this contact information. Additional updates to this layout include:
- Decreasing columns of tiles from 3 to 2
- Changing the avatar (profile picture) size to 90 pixels
- Displaying member names as first name, last name (instead of last name, first name)
- Moving the search bar from the side navigation to the top of the directory page
Change to personal profile field heading
For consistency in tone and simplicity in language, this release includes a minor update text within personal profiles, replacing "I Report To:" with "Reports To:".
Update to Calendar Events widget
In this release, the "Monthly" layout option in the Calendar Events widget has been updated to use the short forms of the days of the week (Sun, Mon, Tues, etc.) for smaller screen sizes in responsive view.

A great set of updates and bug fixes this month! Excited for the potential of teams messaging as we integrate our DWP further with 0365.
Great update regarding messaging using Teams. Where do I enable it? I checked global settings, but couldn't find anything regarding teams there.

Re: Decreasing columns of tiles from 3 to 2
Is there any way to make this layout not look so desolate of information? Settings do not provide any toggle to 2 columns (or the previous 3, preferably). Am I missing this somewhere?
Hi Jared Cohen-Richards, the two-column column layout is tied to the "Tile" Directory Layout option (Member Directory > Action Button > Settings). If this is not the appearance you are getting when selecting the "Tile" option, please contact our Support Team (support@igloosoftware.com) so they can further investigate this behavior.
