Refresh to Increase Engagement
Hello Digital Workplace Managers,
In a recent Community discussion, focused on Executive Engagement in the Digital Workplace, a fellow Digital Workplace Manager, August Robinson mentioned that Executive Engagement was a big part of their recent Refresh Project, and shared his solutions.
My question to you is: How have you utilized a Refresh of your Digital Workplace to solve for specific business challenges?
Looking forward to hearing about your experiences!

We will be refreshing our site soon. I look forward to following along in this discussion.
Great Chelsey Louzeiro! I'm looking forward to reading posts about your Digital Workplace plan moving forward!
Here is a link, directly to the relevant Evolve Chapter in Igloo's Playbook. Andrea Gumz-Dietrich will be able to guide you through this chapter when you're ready to proceed.
Thanks Diana May! And yes, the amazing Andrea Gumz-Dietrich is an extraordinary guide!
Hi All,
I apologize for the delayed response, busy week!
The business challenges we aimed to solve with our refresh were primarily around increasing user engagement with content at all levels of our organization. I am a huge advocate for pulse surveys and analytics reports when conducting a refresh, because it was through those reports that we were able to target specific problems our users were facing and create a DW tailored to solve those issues. Here were some of the solutions we implemented to address our engagement issue:
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, and goodluck on your refresh!
August Robinson Thank you so much for your insights. Going from 950 to 150 pages is a massive undertaking! I am in process of writing an article about the importance of the 'Human Factor' when looking to increase engagement and it looks like you've done this! Great job.
We have a pretty intensive process for creating client proposals for the products we offer (educational travel programs). When we refreshed our Igloo, we moved a significant number of workflows within that process to the digital workplace. This allowed users to reduce email clutter, see a history of what had happened in the proposal process that far, and get a transparent view of where a given proposal was in the pipeline. The process of moving workflows to Igloo also shined a light on a few areas where our procedures weren't airtight, so we took the opportunity to tighten things up, and think through points of failure and exceptions to the rule. Some outcomes:
Our Exec team is heavily involved in the proposal production process. Getting them on board with all of the new workflows wasn't easy...we were battling decades of habits! But now that we've done it, they can see very clearly how our digital workplace has increased our productivity, boosted morale, and increased task efficiency.
Jocelyn Flint these are excellent use cases for the platform. Utilizing the Digital Workplace to solve these types of real business challenges is key to its success. Great job!
