Virtual Video Platforms for Virtual Townhalls
Hello Igloo Customer Care Community!
One of my great customers, Good Shepherd Services, was inquiring about virtual conferencing platforms to host things like Virtual Townhalls within their Townhall Solution. More specificaly, they asked:
My team is currently working on figuring out how to launch a virtual townhall from the DWP. What platforms are you using to host your virtual townhalls?Does anyone have experience using Zoom or Microsoft Teams?
Please let us know!
Sincerely,

Matt Pennetti Can you remind me what the platform was that Groupon used for you Townhall?
We use Zoom for our virtual townhalls and would LOVE a way to embed it into our Igloo. We currently only use Igloo to house the replay links and any follow-up Q&As and keep all Zoom meeting information in Outlook.
What about using our Igloo Townhall Solution? https://marketplace.igloosoftware.com/details/virtual-town-hall/
It works well for us for our Igloo Townhall's. It runs decent video side by side with the slides. I quite enjoy it. Its somewhat dependent on size of org but think it would fit Good Sheppard.
It would be no cost and a quick start up compared to some other alternatives. We can also help guide them since we use it ourselves.
We use Livestream (https://livestream.com/). It's a Vimeo product with the ability to be viewed behind SSO and OKTA. Streams can be collected into libraries and viewable as a player or individually. Streams can handle our employee base at around 3,000 at once with no stalls or lag.
Igloo integration is super easy with the video embed in the WYSIWYG editor. Highly recommend.
Thanks so much Matt Pennetti!
Matt Pennetti Hi Matt - you're able to integrate the actual live cast into your Igloo using Livestream? Sounds awesome!
Wow thank you everyone for the responses! Molly Sproatt, right now this was my plan, to have the townhall through Zoom and have replays available in our DWP. However, Matt Pennetti that's great! To Molly's point, are you able to do an actual live cast? If so, that is a game changer!!
Thanks for connection Roxana Lovrekovic!!
Livestream on Igloo is super simple. Just embed the player into a page. Once you start streaming, it'll pop up.
This is an amazing discussion and so timely for a lot of people. Thanks for the tip Matt Pennetti That is probably a hidden gem most people don't know about.
Due to our multiple locations, like many of you, we use GoToMeeting Webinar and Zoom for virtual town halls. It is usually pushed out through our learning management system (LMS) and available for replay.
Matt Pennetti - from your comment above ...
"Its somewhat dependent on size of org but think it would fit Good Sheppard. "
Can you define how large of an audience this may work for? Doubtful it would work for our entire enterprise at 36K, but maybe for smaller segments ... maybe our line or function leaders, but some of those are still thousands of people.
Livestream.com (Vimeo) + Igloo is a fantastic setup and highly recommended in the exact fashion Matt Pennetti spoke of.
Tom Ryan Thanks. I'll refer my video tech guys to Livestream to check it out for our use cases.
