Trivia Game Layout/Formats
Hello!
We are looking to do trivia throughout a weeklong celebration of our company's 70th anniversary and I was curious about how others have done this on their Igloos. In the past, we had a .pdf with questions that employees then submitted to an email, but I think it would be nice to have a more engaging way to answer questions.
Polls?
I worry Microblogs will just give away the answers lol
Google forms?
Excited to hear your ideas!

Great post Cristina Herrera ! For my part, I've seen polls used in a sort of scavenger hunt-esque trivia contest, in that polls were placed in various areas throughout the Digital Workplace, so there was double the fun as the user first had to find them and then answer the question. Following that logic you could also use poll widgets on a single page to create a trivia experience. I've also heard of folks using Google forms as you've suggested. Excited to see what folks have done here as well. Aneka Muniz , Chelsey Louzeiro - ever tried this or had any thoughts along those lines?
Brad Rooke Ooh a trivia scavenger hunt -- a combo of some of my favorite things
Cristina Herrera - I thought you might enjoy...
Brad Rooke - I have used the poll widget and combined with a scavenger hunt, but with no clues...people just had to hunt them! We call it the Great Pumpkin Hunt and do it each October. The polls feature a certain topic, internal team campaign, etc.
Chelsey Louzeiro - oooh, no clues? Fun!
Every year during Ethics Week we have a Find LEO (Leidos Ethics Officer) scavenger hunt to drive people to our Ethics page and content. To not give away the answer every day, we ask them to enter every day by emailing a screenshot of LEO on the page where they found him. We have a drawing every day and a final drawing of all entries at the end of the week. I know this doesn't keep it all in the platform, but we have found it works for us.
We also have periodic engagement activities to draw users in to participate in the platform in fun ways. There's usually no revealing of answers in these as everyone just has their own input.
And, for our 50th anniversary of our company we invited employees to share their stories and history with the company to build a repository of history that was buried in a time capsule at our then new headquarters building. These were provided right in the platform, but again, not revealing answers, just collecting input.
Tammy Triplett How cute is he!! I love this.
Sharing history is something we definitely want to do. A time capsule would be so much fun!
We have created a "flip-card" using CSS or an animated GIF for users to locate throughout the site and answer the "poll" question for a chance to WIN a new unique badge.
Here is the animated .GIF version:

Nicole Cummins Such a cool idea, utilizing .gifs! I've noticed that animation really catches the eye on our Igloo. Thanks for sharing!
This month, I did a puzzle where you had to find 4 puzzle pieces around my digital workplace like a scavenger hunt that had a bible verse when put together (Maybe yours is a question they need to put together). Once it was put together, each person had to send me a direct message with the bible verse. (Maybe for you, they send you the answer.) I purposefully did not give the book of the bible and verse number because I wanted to give them the opportunity to find the verse in the bible and tell me the book of the bible and verse number themselves to get an extra 10 points. My graphics and announcements are attached. (I wish I had more time to make them more like actual puzzle pieces, but this isn't my only job, which I'm sure is true for a lot of people here.)
This was the way the response came in.
I'm not sure how helpful this next one is, but maybe it will spark an idea.
Last month I did Cyber Security Bingo, I should have waited until October, but maybe you guys can do something similar with trivia questions/answers. (I attached the announcement with the graphic. It's a little hard to read because I wanted to keep it all in one snip, but you should be able to zoom in). Ultimately, they had to complete tasks to win the bingo square, and each square was worth a set number of points.
(I did everything in Canva, by the way)
Maybe any of these sparks an idea.
