Sharing Content From an Intranet to External sources
Good Afternoon All,
Happy New Year!
I have a question as to whether any community has successfully enabled sharing from the Igloo to an external site like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter etc.
The use case is to have a blog articles channel that has a button at the bottom of the article for the user to share to the site they wish too. We have built a version one of this but we are struggling with the ability to share to LinkedIn in particular.
Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!

We have previously asked about getting Igloo content (particularly blog channel posts) available as an RSS feed, but that is not something that's available yet. We were going to use it for digital signage.
Can you say more about what you've built? Is it sharing successfully to Twitter/Facebook?

Karen Rogers Hi Karen, Sorry for the delayed response.
It is sharing successfully to both however there are some current caveats. We use a plug in called - https://sharethis.com/. Then within a channel our dev team have a script that runs to find an image to set that as the oembed image (this unfortunately is low res which is our issue currently as Igloo doesn't use them). The script also runs to find the link that you are wanting to share - so the content a user can share in our use case lives on the companies website blog. However, this content is copied to the Intranet so the user is able to share the external website news straight from the Intranet.
To summaries our solution you need to include a link to the news you want the user to share from an external source as they don't want to share a link to their Intranet. But, with that in mind its working well with facebook and twitter. Here what it looks like at the bottom of the blog post.
