Internal Podcasts
I'm wondering if anyone does an internal Podcast, and what that looks like in your digital workplace, as far as the posting goes. I really like how this looks: http://forwardconstruction.buzzsprout.com/911329/5081183-forward-construction-specialty-contractor-interview-j-f-ahern-co-8-20-20 But cannot figure out a way to replicate that in my Igloo workplace. We are beginning a new monthly Podcast series, so I'm looking for a nice and creative way to publish this in our workplace without it being too clunky. Any suggestions?

I don't have an answer but following as we've been looking for a (free) solution to do something similar!
This is such a neat idea. I did some snooping around and it looks like you have two(maybe three) choices if you really like the look/feel of Buzzsprout (I certainly do!)
1. Buzzsprout does have an IFRAME option for the embeddable player. You have to reach out to their support and they will provide said code but it should let you embed a custom player that looks exactly like that one.
2. RSS Feeds. Buzzsprout supports RSS and has built-in code. I was able to take our Igloo RSS Feed and insert their URL. https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/1450573.rss (In case you want to hear my test for y'all!)
3. You could produce the podcasts and use the audio source player within Igloo. It's not nearly as striking as that player but it's a standard player and you could dress up around it with some marketing flair. Spotify would also make for a GREAT choice with this route.
Super interested in hearing if anyone has done something along these lines.

Tom Ryan Haha, omg, I love the test!! Thanks for that!! Ok, so I'm feeling really Podcast dumb right now. In your third option, is Spotify the "host" of the audio file then? I also can't find the audio source player within my Igloo DW. I would really like it if we didn't have to click a link to go outside of our DW, so if this option let us keep everything in there, that'd be perfect.
Ashley Thomma haha, thanks for listening!
All great questions and not a lick of dumb anywhere to be seen in these forums! Spotify has some functionality that makes it a pretty nifty podcast tool(host) and the embedding player for it I find to be a little bit more straight forward (bigger beasts and all that jazz)
I used the <audio> INSERT PODCAST URL HERE </audio> tags in the WYSIWYG editor's code view to get the following screenshot below. The "Late Night Edition" element under the player is from my RSS widget and that opens a mini player in a new window, but isn't a bad approach either.
Whichever route you decide to take, your users are insanely lucky to have a person like you at the helm! It's so energizing when people are actively trying to provide new experiences to their end-users!
Tom Ryan ok... mine is nice and ugly, and when I click on it, it takes me back to the code - where I see it added lots of other stuff. I know a *LITTLE* code, but this is over my head. Haha!
And I thought this was going to be easy! Pfftt! Not so much.
Ashley Thomma - oh eek! catastrophic looking indeed!
Try using this code instead:
It works on my test site, I swear! The player isn't pretty by any means but it works and isn't super tough to do.
I did stumble upon this podcasting tool and the embedding is super simple judging by the comments. https://simplecast.com/ (excuse the pun!)
Hello!
We currently have a podcast linked into our Intranet site, however, it's just an image of our podcast logo with the hyperlink attached to it. I LOVE the design you shared Ashely in your original post. Testing this in my site!
Our organization has done a audio recording (not quite podcast) and then moved to a video format for communication to our internal teams. The team records it via Zoom and I upload the mp4 and then embed the video file on a home page. We also have a public podcast, but it is hosted through a service. https://www.obhg.com/podcasts/
