In theory, it seemed like a good idea but...
The latest Calendar channel enhancement removed the ability to add a past date. On the surface, that seemed quite reasonable, however, my managers hate it. Our plant managers, in particular, have been using calendars to track vacations and other PTO. They like having a monthly visual of who has been or will be out. It's not uncommon for them to have to add PTO that occurred in the past. They are no longer able to do that. As a result, they have left our igloo and reverted to using a legacy tool that I had hoped to retire this year. :(
I am cuious of anyone else received complaints from their community about not being able to add past events? If so, please consider upvoting my idea to add an option to the calendar channel that would allow or disallow the entry of past events (there are valid reasons for each). Judy Headrick Thank-you for your feedback. We are planning to restore this functionality in April's release and have added a new warning to ensure that events created in the past are done so intentionally.

Hi Judy Headrick - I voted for your idea. I would be curious to hear how others may have been negatively impacted by the ability to create past events (based on the comment on your idea) and how often that happened.
Dori Gray Thanks! I'm curious as well.
Hi Judy! I've asked our product team to investigate this functionality change to see if we can ease the burden for your team. Once I have more insight I'm happy to provide an update!

Hi Judy Headrick - thanks for the post and I'm glad it sounds like a resolution might come of it for you! Mind if I steal your post title though? :) I saw the title and think this would be an awesome discussion post about things community managers have tried but didn't work out so we can learn from others trial and error.
Mindy Montgomery Steal away! :)

Andrea Gumz-Dietrich Thank you! I will let our plant managers know. They will be VERY happy to hear that!
