Forcing a Read More break
Is there a way to force a "Read More" break on a blog post? Every now and then a blog post in our community will have multiple embedded social media posts and the "Read More" does not appear.
1 Conclusion
Chris Ashworth - There is no convenient way to force a Read More break in a blog post. The blog articles widget and blog channel feed tend to try and show around the first 500 characters of a post, but embedded content can get around this as the content doesn't really live in the post.
If your primary method of surfacing blog posts is through a blog articles widget, a potential option would be to consider giving your blog articles a summary. The blog articles widget's layout can then be configured to show the summary and not the body. This would most likely be a bit of a process change but does give you more control over what would show up in the widget (only what is in the Summary field of the article). We have a similar configuration for the blog widget on the home page of Customer Care.

Thanks for the reply Jesse Langstaff, we're in the midst of some layout tweaks in our workspace, and likely take the Customer Care layout in to consideration.
Hi - is there any update on this Chris? Looking for a way for a long article displayed on a page via widget, to fade off at a certain point for real estate and aesthetic controls. Thanks!
