Deleting a microblog post
Hi,
I read in an old forum posted 4 years ago that it might be possible for an end-user to delete their own microblog post. Can someone confirm if this is correct? Right now our testers who have write-only access and are unable to delete from the widget or the microblog channel.
Thanks

Hi Angela,
This is the recommended practice to remove Microblog posts (This action can be performed by any user with Write access):
- Click the Action button beside the post and select "View Post"
- On the right side of the page, in the Channels panel, click the X beside all the Channels the post has been shared to.
This will disassociate the Microblog post from all Channels, removing it from the Channel feed, and also removing it from Search results. However, it is important to note that this will not remove the post from the digital workplace entirely. It will still be possible for users who have a direct link to the post to follow that link and see the original post. Because of this, we advise that an additional step be taken in order to remove content entirely from the digital workplace:
- Click the Action button beside the post and select "Edit"
- Replace the content of the post with "deleted", or another message (as the post cannot be left entirely blank).
This action can be performed the user who created the post, or any users with Edit access to the Microblog Channel.

Hi Angela, while microblog posts can't be deleted, the user can remove them from any channels they appear on by selecting "view Post" and then removing the post from any channels that appear in the channel summary on the upper right.
See the article on microblogs for reference.
