Business Continuity During COVID-19
Hello all,
Next week, I'll be posting an article about how Igloo's platform supports business continuity during any crisis - and currently the world is feeling the effects of the Corona Virus deeply. Whether you're using Igloo to allow more employees to work from home, using Igloo to communicate just-in-time information, or using the Town Hall solution to live stream what would have been in-person meetings, please share your strategies below, to help one another.
Igloo Community: Come together and support one another by sharing your own best practices to keep business on track with the use of the Igloo Platform.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Igloo on...

Hi Diana May, Looking forward to reading your article.
We are currently sharing our leadership's response plan via CTAs on high traffic pages, and are also using CTAs to share this John Hopkins data map: https://gisanddata.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/bda7594740fd40299423467b48e9ecf6
We're working through weekly blog content plans with the following structure in mind:
1. What to do Now
2. How to Protect Yourself
3. Affected Countries
4. Travel Advisories (ongoing updates)
5. How To Protect Yourself While Traveling
6. HR policies – work from home/flexible hours
7. Talking Points -for funders, others who need to know
Additionally, we embedded the CDC and WHO twitter accounts on our Benefits and Wellness page in the Human Resources Space.
As we progress, I'm happy to share more.
Thanks Chelsey Louzeiro, I'm following the John Hopkins data map as well. Is your organization cancelling travel / conferences?
Thanks
Diana May, we canceled our Asia council meeting. All travel to infected areas are being postponed, unless absolutely necessary. And leadership is making case-by-case decisions on public events and some other travel at this time.
I proposed to the response plan team that employees have a 14 day work from home quarantine if they choose to or must travel for business - no answer on that yet.
Thanks Chelsey Louzeiro I'm also interested in hearing which solutions everyone's using most to communicate, and collaborate during the pandemic. This is a time when it's crucial to ensure everyone has the most up to date, accurate information quickly. Executives must collaborate with one another and show decisive leadership. At Igloo, internally, we are making use of the Leadership Zone and the News Room to accomplish this. What are others using?
Just this afternoon we we created a page specifically for COVID-19 content. It's a page and blog located in our primary navigation.
Our leadership announced today that all U.S. staff will work from home starting tomorrow through March 30.
Chelsey Louzeiro it is a good time to own an Igloo!
We have two pages that are being used for this crisis. One is an overall Pandemic/Disease page with FAQs, cancellations, company specific information. And another one Global Intelligence Resources that includes world news feeds that include pandemic information as well as other world events that could affect our employees and travel. Both of these pages existed prior to COVID-19 and both are being leveraged for this event now.
In addition to these pages, we also have leadership messages that are emailed out, but then also posted as blog posts on their various blog channels and highlighted in our home page news carousel and headlines.
We have suspended non-mission-critical travel and are providing work from home guidance for those that are able to work remotely.
Andrea Gumz-Dietrich Indeed! Love our Igloo!
Hi Diana, would you be happy if posted this on my linked account too?
Best regards
paul
We've placed prominent a CTA button that directs to a page with corporate communications, links to CDC & WHO, as well as a section with some related media (podcasts, videos, and maps).
This will become more crucial in the coming days (even hours) as our entire county in Pennsylvania is effectively shutting down for two weeks.
I'm looking forward to what you're writing to add it in to a more robust informational page for us.
Hello all, as the scope of the situation has rapidly expanded, Igloo, as an organization will be issuing a more information next week and I'll provide links here for you.
Yes, Igloo has been a HUGE part of our response! We created a "Coronavirus Information Hub" to centralize all critical information for our 300+ staff across 2 offices. We continually sent updates, broadcasting the most critical, but because the info changed so frequently, it made sense to curate a separate page and drive traffic to it from a big banner on the home page. Our adoption has increased 5-fold since this crisis has begun. Not how I'd have drawn it up, but some of our laggards finally get what a digital workplace is and how empowering it is.
Today, we're running an "everyone work from home" test day and I seriously have no idea how we'd have done it without our Igloo platform.
Thank you so much for sharing Steven Spadt. I do believe you are not alone in realizing the true value of Igloo at this time.
Steven Spadt Chelsey Louzeiro Tammy Triplett I would like to know if the three of you are open to joining me as panel guests on a webinar, on Wednesday, March 18th, at 3:00pm EST, for one hour, that will be open to all, to share ideas for using Igloo during this time, to best manage and share information with our members. Please do let me know if you're available. Thank you.
We've done some similar things. We've created a CTA that lives prominently on our homepage and redirects you to choose between two hubs that both live on our Knowledge Center - one for our team members to get the updates they need, and the other for details on helping our clients.
The Knowledge Center is our single source of most current information and has a wiki with FAQs as well as links out to the CDC and WHO. We try to minimize any information sent via email and within all emails direct everyone to Live for more information so they know where to find the one source of truth.
On our hub that's about our clients, we're using forums to ask our team members what they're hearing in the market and suggest opportunities where we can show our expertise. And we're creating posts "from" our business leaders about specific impacts to their line of business.
I'm also taking the time on a daily basis to browse through blogs on various team pages across our Igloo to make sure all rogue covid19 news and updates aren't posted elsewhere. It's great everyone wants to do and say something, but we're really trying to make sure all communications begin and end in our official hub - I transfer those to our official blog when appropriate.
I'd really love to do it, Diana May, but I can't commit just yet because all of our work-from-home planning is at a fevered pitch right now and I'm not sure where we'll be at that point just yet. When do you need a commitment?
I completely understand Steven Spadt! Would Monday end of day work?
Molly Sproatt Great approach - you're absolutely right. One source of truth is key at times like this and that what a digital workplace is all about.
Hi Diana May - Yes, I can participate at 3:00p Wednesday, 3/18. I've blocked the time on my calendar so something else doesn't hijack the time slot. Looking forward to it :-)
Thank you Tammy Triplett!
Diana May, please count me in. I'd love to be part of the panel.
Hi all. Diana May I am at a small company with an HO in Sweden and I am based on the West Coast of Canada. We have people in Switzerland and the USA who all have access to Igloo but I have not done anything yet to specifically address the COVID-19 communication needs. I feel overwhelmed by it all right now. Our consultant in the UK has offered help too (which is great of course!) but I also see there is an online meeting above on Wednesday. Is that set for 1500 EST (3pm)? If that is the case and it is 1800 PST (6pm), then I would also like to join.
Ahhh, I have found the link myself to this webinar and I add it below
